Brandon Sforzo

Postdoctoral Fellow
Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering
Ben T. Zinn Combustion Laboratory, Rm. 112
Dr. Sforzo's research focuses on combustion and energy systems with applications for space and atmospheric propulsion and terrestrial power generation. Dr. Sforzo received dual bachelors degrees in Physics from Ithaca College and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 2008, and continued to Georgia Tech for grad school, completing a MS in Aerospace in 2010 and his PhD in 2014. Brandon's doctoral research was on the topic of ignition performance for gas turbine engines and developed a dual experimental and modeling program to address the problem. He continues to focus on energy and propulsion research and is currently investigating the feasibility of supersonic retro-propulsion as a planetary descent technology as well as numerical methods for parachute performance prediction.
